Spain has highest unemployment rate in the Eurozone

The number of unemployed people in Spain increased by 3.1 percent in January over the previous month to 4,326,500, according to the country's Ministry of “Unemployment”.
Spanish unemployment shot up again in February to 2.03 per cent over January to 4,408,630, according to the nacional instituto of statistics or nearly 20 per cent of the workforce.
This is the highest rate anywhere in the European Union (EU).
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has noted that unemployment in Spain is double that of the average in developed nations. A statement from the OECD says that at the end of December unemployment in Spain was 19.5% where as the average in developed countries was 8.8%. They note that the over the last two years the average number of unemployed in Spain has increased by more than ten percentage points.
In the Canary Islands, the Spain’s colony in the North West of Africa, more than one person in four ( near 30 per cent of workforce) is unemploiment.
